ABOUT
M. Andrews: a man who draws, thus, mandraws.
HISTORY
I have been drawing as far back as I can remember; in other words, I have about two decades of experience. For most of my life, I saw drawing as a fun way to pass the time. Always carrying a clipboard with printer paper and a mechanical pencil, I loved to draw comic book and cartoon characters well into my adolescence. When I started thinking seriously about a career in art, I decided I needed to learn how to work digitally. I taught myself how to use Photoshop as a painting tool starting when I was 17, and I have been polishing my technique ever since.
EDUCATION
I attended Winthrop University as an illustration major from 2008-2012. Though I experimented with many media and traditional techniques, digital painting remained my focus. I applied my growing knowledge of concept and color theory to my digital work to evolve my style as I moved forward.
CURRENT
Today, I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communication Design – Illustration and do contract work for various clients locally and abroad. I’m always looking for new opportunities, so please contact me if you are interested in hiring me for telecommuter work. If you’re in the Greenville, SC area, I’d be happy to meet in person as well.
